Summary
The Corroded Coffin members made a name for themselves investigating the paranormal, they have a fairly successful show that brings in some extra cash. Eddie's not sure if he really believes any of it, it's been eight years and he's only managed to record a few pieces of evidence he can't explain.
He's not expecting much from the investigation of the Harrington house, even laughing at how serious the man sounds about their safety. Steve Harrington himself and his stupid beautiful face is a big draw, he's not going to lie, but the stories he's telling about the haunting he's experiencing sound far-fetched even for them; particles of darkness, doors that lead nowhere, voices from rooms that are empty and visions of other places filled with black vines.
He'd assume the whole thing to be a hoax, if Harrington wasn't offering them a sizable amount of money to spend the night, and there's more on the table if they can rid him of his haunting for good.

Summary

Like one of the very, very, VERY few fics that have chat style in it that's legitimately worth reading. No regrets, this thing is absolutely gold, it's relatable, it's chat style for the most part but it's not, like... Memes and characters being OOC like you tend to find in a chat fic. There's PLOT here, excellent story telling through the lens of a message, article, or video, and I was just blown away by how much I loved it.
Also the throwback to fanfiction.net immediately followed by Linkin Park Naruto AMVs at the VERY start of the fic had me absolutely howling for a good ten minutes 🤣🤣🤣 Talk about savage callouts to a generation!

The dead teens aren’t really either in a place like Hawkins, but it escalates much faster than Steve expects it to. A dead dog, dead deer, Tommy H.’s dumb face on the Hawkins Post along with the world’s most dishonest obituary, saying what a stand up guy he was, and a credit to the community.
