Summary
Your pulse thrums under your skin as you look at him. His lips are slick with spit and bruised from your teeth. Your lips sting from him, you’re surprised he hasn’t drawn blood yet. ‘Yet’ might be the key word here if the way he’s looking at you means anything.
His pupils are blown wide, a look in his usually blank eyes so disconcerting that a flash of nervousness bursts under your skin before it tangles with the heat low in your stomach. Lohen looks excited in the breathless way you’ve seen him one other time after he had come back to the city with blood on his sleeves. He had shrugged your questions off then.
Lohen has that same look in his eyes now, his smile a little too wide to be comforting. This is why you don’t like him. He’s weird. You don’t think you’ve ever wanted anyone more.

Weeks after his disappearance, he suddenly shows back up at the lab, except...this version of him is not the one that you know.
“I may be different from what you remember, but I can promise you we are one in the same.”
You take a shuttering breath. He's not the man you know—the man you remember—but he's something so close that you can't help wanting to believe he's what's yours.
“You're the Doctor?”
“I am the Doctor,” he confirms, and then grins. "Now…why don't you show me how much you've missed me?”

Kyryll raises an eyebrow, his hand falling still. “Oh? I don't believe I know what you're referring to.” You almost think he’s a bit offended - he would never dream of treating you poorly, and the implication that he had was just ridiculous. Now you're curious; you tear your eyes away from the gambling to refocus, and lift your glass to your lips just as Varka speaks again.
“Don’t gimme that. I heard - no, I saw you two outside earlier.”

You and Flins get spotted in a compromising position by Varka, leading to an unexpected opportunity to indulge your fantasies of Mondstadt's beloved Grandmaster.

To them, he was a necessary evil; to you, he was a waking nightmare. He hadn’t just caught a spy. He had claimed a new toy to break in the isolated dark of the aftermath.
