It's only a short walk from the beach to the chair comfortably nestled between palm trees, but it's enough for you to feel relief wash over you when you get into the shade and no longer feel the hot sand burning the soles of your bare feet.
You place your cool drink in the sand besides your chair and lie on your stomach, so you can watch the condensation form drops on the surface of your glass. Your drink is so cold, you can feel it, even from a distance. It's mouthwatering. Especially in this ungodly heat. Sure, it's advised against drinking cold beverages when it's so hot, because as soon as the initial temperature shock subsides, the heat will feel even worse, but you could say you enjoy the thrill. Besides, it's not the most self-destructive thing you've done recently.
Another reason why you're on your stomach and resting your head on top of your folded arms, besides wanting to get a nice tan on your back, obviously, is so you don't have to look at the blood red sky. It keeps growing redder the more often you come here and only serves as an unpleasant reminder of how stupid what you're doing truly is.
