A raven. A dragon. A kingdom destined to burn.

When Lady Anya Blackwood is sent to King’s Landing to marry Ser Gwayne Hightower, she expects sacrifice, duty, and a life that belongs more to her family than to herself. What she does not expect is Daemon Targaryen.

Brilliant, reckless, and dangerously magnetic, the Rogue Prince is everything she should avoid.

But some storms cannot be outrun.

As political tensions rise within House Targaryen and old alliances begin to crack, Anya becomes entangled in a relationship that threatens not only her reputation, but the future of the realm itself.

In a court built on ambition, secrets, and betrayal, one choice can change everything.

And some ravens were always meant to fly beside dragons.

    Summary

Maesters and men alike often debate just why the Lords chose young Laenor Velaryon to rule that day in 101 AC. Perhaps, if they had not such strife would have been avoided. They'd have had a healthy, young king prepared for his role, instead the realm bore witness to a child on the throne. A first since his great grandsire, Jaehaerys I Targaryen, the young king was but nine namedays whence he came to the throne.

    What was the saying again?

Ah, yes, the road to Empyrean is paved with good intentions.

    or

In which the Dance of Dragons is not fought over the succession to the Iron Throne, but for the control of a regency.

    Summary

This story began with two questions.
Why was Alicent Hightower never quite bold enough to refuse her marriage to Viserys and stand against her father?
And why was Daemon Targaryen never quite clever enough to expose Otto Hightower's schemes before it was too late?
But what if they had been?
    What if Alicent chose differently?
    What if Daemon acted sooner?
What if House Hightower and House Targaryen were bound together long before the Dance?
After all, when fire joins with the wind, it does not burn less fiercely.
    It spreads.

    Summary

The Valyrian Gods are upset that the Long Night destroyed the world. The House of Dragons was on its last legs. Their champion too weakened to effectively fight and win. They decide they must go back to the beginning and stop the Dance of the Dragons.

They tried sending warnings to Viserys with dreams about a son so he knows to prevent it but he misunderstands. They tried sending dreams to Rhaenyra and this time they show everything that is to come. It doesn’t bode well for the young princess, too overwhelmed and confused, she ends up labeled mad. Even when Daemon is sent dreams alongside Rhaenyra, the King keeps siding with their enemies and weakening their House.

They decide Viserys is the problem, he cannot become King. They send dreams to a young Aemma. They know now to send only bits of information at a time. Aemma, the blue dragon who never got the chance to feel her own fire. From her line comes the ‘Heir That Was Promised’.

    Summary

Long had the North been dismissed by the South as a cold and distant land of snow, stone, and hardship. Yet whilst southern lords played their games for crowns and coin, something ancient stirred beyond the Neck.

After journeying into the far North, Eddard Stark returns changed by forgotten truths and old powers hidden beneath weirwood roots and winter shadows. Quietly, the North begins to awaken. Roads are built. Moat Cailin rises anew. Winter Town grows into Winterhold, a great northern city of trade, learning, and strength. The Night’s Watch is reborn, whilst whispers speak of direwolves, giants, and the Children of the Forest hidden deep within sacred groves. To the rest of Westeros, the North still appears poor and isolated. That illusion is deliberate.

But when Jon Arryn dies under suspicious circumstances and King Robert Baratheon rides north along the Kingsroad, the fragile peace of the realm begins to fracture. Beneath falling snow, old loyalties weaken, dark powers stir beyond the Wall, and the game of thrones moves steadily toward war.

Whilst the South looks toward crowns and power, the North prepares for winter. And in this telling of the song, the North does not fall. It ascends.
