He didn't like change, at all. But meeting Robin and adapting and growing around her wasn't bad, he just learnt who he was and how he would fit her into his routine.
Which, now, as Steve watches Robin fiddle with the handmade bracelet he just knows Robin didn't make, he figures; yeah, maybe change isn't all that bad.
Bringing himself out of his thoughts, he takes another bite from his chocolate bar, quietly observing Robin as she smiles fondly at her bracelets.
“So,” he starts, blunt, because when is he not. “How long have you and Vickie been dating?”

OR: Steve and Robin have a much needed gossip and a movie night; they come to some realisations.

Steve raised a questioning brow. “You came all the way to…Loch Nora…so I could turn my walkie up…”
“Yeah, well,” She started, looking at everything but him. “You’re always on Dustin’s case about batteries and the walkies…figured you’d wanna know.”
“Uh huh.” Steve may have been foggy from his nap, but he wasn’t stupid. Her act of disinterest was just that. An act. She wouldn’t look at him for more than a few seconds before her gaze drifted down to her feet, then to the side bush, then back to him. Never quite looking him in the eye, more like glazing over him in general.
Which said a lot about the girl who looked monsters in the face and made grown men cry.

Summary
The gash scrawled across Steve's face is a nasty thing. Slashed from his right cheek to the bridge of his nose, barely missing his eye. Deep, and oozing thick, red blood.
Steve leans back against the sink as Will starts pulling items out of the first aid kit, trying to remember how Hopper taught him to do stitches.
Footsteps sound outside the door. A steady, rhythmic patter back and forth, back and forth. Eddie, if he had to guess. The footfalls are too light to be Hopper, too heavy to be Robin or Nancy.
Or: Will patches Steve up after an encounter with the Upside Down, and learns something surprising.
