Summary
This is a reupload of my first Tyzula fic. I was always fascinated by the character Azula and believed that, despite all her flaws and toxic traits/behavior, that she could and would heal if given the opportunity. She would have to hold herself accountable and work hard to set things right, but I believed that wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility. I also observed her friendship with Ty Lee and thought that the two would work great as a couple post-healing and wanted to write them together. This story was my attempt to write Azula and Ty Lee in greater dimension, explore both of their stories, and write the two of them reconciling and healing from their past wounds and eventually building a life together. My goal was to depict Azula as being fully aware of where she went wrong and making concrete efforts to change, and Ty Lee having full agency and say in how their relationship goes.

I wanted to write an AU where Azula didn't hinge her self-worth on Ozai's approval. In this fic, Azula took a liking to reading, and it eventually became a big part of her life. She developed her own life philosophy and grew an identity separate from her father. The princess has plans for the future. But in order to achieve her goal, she needs Ty Lee's help (the POV character)
The first chapter is just smut, but i promise plot comes after. Also, Azula is and always has been a futa in this universe. Both characters are 18. Mai is 19, and Zuko is 19.

"The Fire Nation Royal Family, consisting of Fire Lord Zuko, Fire Lady Mai, Crown Princess Izumi, Prince Iroh, Princess Ursa, and Prince Noren, had just arrived before sunset to Ember Island for their annual vacation, opting to stay in their old, family beach house.
With their only companions being their guards, the Rangi Warriors, who were currently being led by Ladies Zirin, Beam, and Chyou, and their closest friend, Lady Ty Lee, who was also the head of the Rangi Warriors.
And as the Royal Family was getting settled in for the night, they soon realized they had a conundrum.
This was because Princess Kiyi, who was currently studying at Caldera City University, was going to join them tomorrow, and combined with the fact that Izumi, who had just turned three, was finally old enough for her own room, meant that they would not have enough rooms for everyone.
That is if they didn’t touch Azula’s old room."
Or, an attempt to continue the Avatar comics timeline post-Imbalance while also incorporating the other extended universe material, though with a focus on the Fire Nation.
