Zuko Hitachi is a tea maker and waiter who is trapped in an abusive relationship with his husband Jet. After finding out that his best friend is pregnant with his child via surrogate, he realizes the gravity of his current relationship and desperately wants to escape. Trying to escape both his mind and his marriage, he begins an affair with his new therapist. As a whole new slew of troubles arise, Zuko feels that entering a tea competition may offer a new life for him and his future child and possibly future romance.

Katara was excited to finally join her big brother Sokka at college, with her mind laser-focused on education. But Katara's new friend, party girl & Sorority president Suki Arya is making that impossible - not to mention some unplanned romantic detours that get in the way of studying. Sokka's idea to bolster his popularity & school involvement in an attempt to keep up with his powerhouse little sister by trying out for the football team goes a little too well. He suddenly finds himself in the middle of a feud between Suki & her archrival, the beautiful but intimidating Yue Taqqiq. After her father's arrest, Azula reluctantly relocates to live in Sulphur Springs with her mother and brother, with whom she has a rocky relationship at best. Azula is determined nothing interesting will happen in a boring town like this- that is until she meets the girl next door. Katara has an obsession with a thirty-year-old mystery surrounding the Tremont Hotel which Ursa is determined to renovate for complicated reasons intertwined with the past.
Zuko doesn't care about a missing girl from the '90s or whatever secrets Azula thinks Ursa is hiding. Until he's forced to care by being confronted with the past in a shocking twist after his sister and friends discover a secret passageway that leads back in time - a month before the mysterious disappearance of a young girl called Yue. In the past, Zuko meets a handsome, if annoying, boy, Jet. Zuko finds himself getting attached, but everyone is a suspect in Yue's disappearance.
Sokka never meant to allow Katara to drag him into this mess. But the more he gets to know Yue, the more he's determined to save her from her inevitable fate. In a race against time, will Yue's new friends from the future be able to save her from disappearing forever?
