Summary
Mike Wheeler has spent years being labeled the strange kid, the crazy one, the black sheep of his family. Haunted by vivid dreams and fragments of memories that don’t belong to this life, he has carried a constant emptiness since childhood, a sense that something, someone, is missing.
At twenty, he moves to New York City and builds a routine, or the illusion of one: too many cups of coffee, literature lectures he can barely focus on, and late-night D&D sessions with his best friends. But everything changes in the summer of 1992.

Summary
«It’s like he lost his compass. I thought it was about that accident, but I don’t think that’s the full story. There’s a missing piece and I can’t find it. It’s in the way Mike moves and speaks and… the way he looks at Will. We both know he’s always had a sort of attraction to Will, but now… I’m worried.»
( ... )Will couldn’t see it, but Mike was smiling: a slow, almost predatory curve.
«I-I’ll call… We have to call your parents, Mike, or Hop, I think—»
«It’s not my blood.»
«W… What?»
«It’s not my blood, Will.» Mike’s tone softened suddenly, gentle now, almost teasing. He spoke in that characteristic Will’s voice, as if he was addressing a child who couldn’t yet understand.
A long silence settled over the room. -

Summary
Mike has always been good at creating stories. He brought entire worlds to life and hidden paths bloomed on the tip of his tongue; words were his magic language.
Will used to watch him, full of awe and wonder: he was his first listener. His first reader.
Will was quieter than Mike. He was used to taking up as little space as possible. The only people with whom he truly felt safe were Mike and his older brother Jonathan. His language was colour: Will was good at drawing, at bringing Mike’s stories to life with colored pencils, with crayons. When speaking made him too anxious, he drew: Will drew his dreams, his nightmares.
Mike was his first admirer. The first one to have the privilege of walking through his private, secret museum.
( ... )Mike, finally, looks at Will. He becomes a child again, remembering himself and noticing the first signs of Will’s possession: his restless visions, his drifting dissociation, his quiet, heavy silence, his creeping alienation.
Mike’s heart swells painfully, like the sails of a boat.
Will keeps staring at the sea.His gaze is blank.

Summary
"If you wanna disobey me so bad, then go ahead and run. Run from me. Even though I know you can’t live without my presence. You need me."
Mike’s long hair clung to his forehead, soaked from the rain and lending a much darker look to his face as a lightning sliced through the sky, illuminating the pitch-black forest for a split second. The sudden flash revealed the harsh contrast between them — Will’s scared expression and Mike’s predatory gaze.
"But run, Will, since you love being out here so much. Use those legs of yours to run as fast as you can. 'Cause I’m gonna catch you." Mike slowly ran his tongue over his front teeth, a dark, wicked smile pulling at his lips. "I'll fucking catch you."
If an alpha’s love is a promise to keep the fragile whole, how far will Mike Wheeler go before protection demands the omega's soul?
Shuddering under a touch that protects and confines, the omega bends. Will closes his eyes against the dark, knowing that to love Mike means accepting his own end.
Or,
Ten months into the routine of a possessive alpha and an omega with Stockholm syndrome.

“Hmm?”
"I love you," Mike breathes against his neck, the words imprinted on Will's skin where they will haunt him nightly.

Will sighed. “Dustin, I already knew I was in love with Mike.”

Busy avoiding Mike Wheeler, busy lying about homework, and busy trying (and failing) to get over the boy he’s been in love with for years.
