Suddenly, he sees the eagle pass over them, wings spanning majestically, slipping over the sun, casting long shadows on his face, and in that moment Jonathan knows, with absolute certainty, that Teddy is alive, that this eagle is here just to tell him this, that God has taken pity on him and has sent him a sign.
He lets out a startled laugh, elation coursing through him, and then he is falling, darkness taking him before his body even hits the ground.

There is a steadiness in Gale Cleven which Bucky longs to emulate, the way with which he stands by his principles so faithfully, the way he commands respect because he is one of the best, because he is smart and secure, unshakable. Bucky wants to lean against him, wants to be held up by that steadiness, wants it to shield him from his own tenderness.
Buck says 'follow me' and John does. Unwaveringly.

Kenta is 5 when he is gifted to Pete. Pete is already big, tells him that he is 8, and that he doesn’t need a little kid following him around.
Pa had called for him and Pete had walked in, straight-backed, eyes shining and Kenta’s eyes had been glued to him, the way he held and carried himself, the way he tipped his head up just so, almost like defiance, but there was only softness and love in his eyes, deep dark eyes, that pooled with emotions.
Kenta, a child raised away from parks and kindergartens and really any interaction with other children, is entranced."Do you like this one?", Pa had asked, pointing at Kenta and suddenly those eyes were on him and Kenta tried to smile, his lips cracking open.
"Why?"
"I’ll gift him to you.”, Pa says with a wry smile. -

I want to talk about the Bohn/King friendship. Not that I dislike King/Ram, nope, it’s the best but everyone always focuses on Duen/Ram friendship and never the other way around. I imagine that Bohn, because he is a sweet soul, knows King by heart.
