It started with a bang.
Literally and figuratively. Ok not really figuratively, but most definitely literally. Why? He blew up the thing they were doing in science. Or moreso set it on fire, but there was a minor explosion and the fire department came, stressed out cause, 'Why did this goddamn kid set something on fire?' And he got detention, ugh. This is not, however where he met Leo. He actually met him about a week before that, start of science class, for him of course.
He recently moved here from his farm in japan. He thinks fondly of the farm and always have. Oh man he wishes he was back in the fields running around fighting the Farmbotto with Spot, his wonderful pet dino mutant thing. The fields that would go on for kilometers he feels. The villaige down the way. Laying in the sunflower field smelling the grass, even more so when he met his friends. The forest and running along the paths. He knows that he is aggravating, all quick movements and senseless actions. On the contrary his Auntie; nice and respectable, all stern words, warm hugs, sugary cookies and love. Too bad and too late to go back now.
He met Leo a week ago, a quiet kid who he wants to know more about, in science class third period, right before his digital art class.
(Hey!" He gets his seat swiped by a greesy looking kid in a black skirt. They're like halfway through the year yet he just moved here. So he doesnt know this kid. Yet.
The boy shrugs so he growls at him. He smiles, getting the reaction that he wanted. Halfway, the kid doesn't move like he had wished. Ugh, this is annoying.
This classroom was weird, instead of being set up with just tables connected to the floor with sinks, there are also regular tables? How does that work. Not to mention the posters on the walls in a language he doesn't even bother trying to reading, the words just flip around in certain places when they look too similar. And there are too many of them.
"Miyamoto you need to sit down." He flinches, she so butchered his name AND referred to him incorrectly. America. Not to mention her beady little eyes have been following his every move. Hes not a negative person by any means, but people like this easily pisses him off.
"He took my seat! And my name is Me-ya-mo-tho, not Mi-yah-Moe-Toe. Either way i go but Yuichi, my middle name?" He takes his hands out of his dark blue hoodie and place them on his hips and cocks his head to the side, letting his- self proclaimed- Inner Bitch out. She rolls her tiny obsidian eyes. He knows who she is, all pointed looks and careless, and often intentionally made, wording.
"Just sit by Leonardo," she lazily points a wrinkly finger to a turtle kid, one of which he didnt even notice was there, suprisingly. Yikes, this kid is dressed like a walmart employee, Turtle Boy smiles at him and he waves. She continues,
"And besides, it says Miyamoto Yuichi Usagi no?" Ugh does he have to explain this, again? He shifts his hips to the side and starts thumping his foot against the floor im both annoyance and impatience.
He strengthens his glares at her. That seems to do the trick and she just crosses out his name and rewrites it,
"There, Yuichi Miyamoto. That good enough for you?" Not yet.
"Yeah, and please figure out how to say my name correctly." He rolls his eyes and returns his gaze to the Turtle Boy. The whole class is staring at him now and thats cool, he likes being the center of attention after all. He always has hasnt he? So, like the playful bunny he is he sashays over to the seat and sits, placing a foot out and he extends a hand towards the kid, with all eyes on him he smiles.
"You probably know who i am already who are you?" He winks at the end the turtles face turns reddish. Probably from embarrassment. Yeah thats it, he barely mumbles out his name.
"Huh?" He scrunches up his face and moves his ears toward, was it Lee? Nah it was like an old timey name.
"I said im Leonardo or Leo!" Ah that makes more sense. Wayyy more sense. He giggles at his own thoughts and continues to speak.
"Well, Leo, nice ta meet you!" He smiles and the kid proceeded to become more embarrassed, but shakes his hand nonetheless.
And thats the start of their friendship.)
It wasn't. They only became friends after the incident. Or closer then just lab partners at least. He doesn't really like to think about the incident, the embarrassment was so bad you reading this would cringe terribly, his poor cargo- shorts not pants- he was wearing that day! However it is often overshadowed by something awesome: becoming relatively friends with Leo. All quiet giggles and dorky sentiment, hey he watches April Tonight, its entertaining, April O'Neil, strong intent and fierce compassion.
But the rundown is he was pissed at the greasy kid, turned out to be blessed with the name Casey Jones, all rough edges and loud laughs. So he started antagonizing him. In doing so he forgot about his project, shit hit the fan- literally, not the shit but his project- and knocked over a burner. Bing bang boom and he set it on fire and it, kinda exploded and the fire department ran in, oh it was so embarrassing when they ran in and he was just staring at his creation in disbelief. Not to mention, his outfit was totally ruined! I mean his jacket still hasn't gotten all the stains out. But its a Yuichi staple, so he'll cry about it for now.
Yeah, he got a month detention and a week suspension for just that. It was so boring! He felt like he was gonna die from the lack of anything to do! All he could do is stare at the ceiling and wait for the hours to pass by. Not only that terrible punishment, Auntie didnt let him have cookies for two months, all that plus detention is still going and it. Is. Pain. And. Suffering. He. Will. Die. If. He. Cant. Have. A. Cookie. In. Like. A. Day. Not to mention the disappointment in her eyes when she looked at him, of course it was Auntie, there was a hint of mischievous in those worn eyes.
No, both sadly and thankfully. his friendship? [he's debating asking if they are friends honestly, but he figures they might as well be at that point] Started when Leo, strong words and friendly touches, ran up- well more like limped rapidly- over to him yelling asking about the work. The homework they had, he didnt get the homework but they quickly planned to go to the science room and wait outside with Leo while he asked for it. He wont be in the same room as that- apparently para as the actual science teacher is on her paid absence, god for her, unless her husband is a jerk, then sorry for her- vile woman, she was like a crow, squawking at anything done wrong or even slightly out of what she deems correct. So he provides moral support through being there, in the hall while he asks.
He presses a button on his hearing aids that allow him to listen to music, state of the art! made by my very own Auntie! smiling at the proud thought. He presses play and puts on some fast rock. He stands there tapping his foot on the ground and nodsing his head to the beat of the current song. Leo soon comes out, with a packet of work and a growl on his lips after 15 minutes. Yeesh. He knows enough about her to not ask questions, so he presses pause and cocks his head to the side. Leo, at this, sighs loudly. Its one of those drawn out sighs that explain utter disappointment and frustration, one of them your mom would give you if she found out what you read or watch. One that screams, i will fight god if i have to and ill use this sigh to do so. So he just stays quiet and starts walking back with Leo.
Leo decides to break the silence once they get to his locker to grab his backpack. First sighing in defeat of course. Not the kind where your annoyed or in disbelief, more of the type of sigh that will showcase 'hey i give up' something someone who knows they are losing a foght will give. His face scrunches up and his shoulders fall. He rubs his arm as if contemplating life.
"I- I might need this again? You think you can-" He gestures to the paper in his hands as if he is giving up all of his dignity just asking for some help. Damn is this kid dramatic or what. But thats cool, Yuichi is definitely a dramatic type too. He starts to stutter out a way to retract his sentence and Yuichi cuts him off.
He waves his hand, "Yeah its cool I don't do the homework anyways." Leo scrunches up his face again, he likes to do that, and turns his head towards Yuichi, his hands hangs in the air in his locker- an aborted movement to grab a history textbook- a question on his face yet wondering whether or not to ask it. Yuichi gets the hint thankfully.
"I cant really read? the words, like i can but the p and b gets flip flopped," He shakes his head in confusion, fave down eyes staring at his own blue converse, "And s and z feel like they are one and some words look like others." He moves his hands as if they help to explain that.
Leo moves his hand to his chin and closes his eyes for a second. He opens them after an uncomfortable silence settles between them like packed dirt or thick mud. He reopens his eyes to see Yuichi. He now has his shoulders to the sides of his face, ears standing straight up and upper body leaned away.
"Ah," he removes his hand from his chin and moves again to grab his forgotten textbooks, fully facing the locker except for his feet. Very slightly tilted towars Yuichi. "I think I understand what you mean, if you want i can help you with it sometime?"
"Like a study hangout!" He almost shouts out eagerly. Yes, they are totally gonna be full fledged friends after this!! He's so excited he starts vibrating in place. Thankfully, Leo doesn't seem to notice.
"Yeah, just that." He finishes grabbing his books and shoves them haphazardly into his bag. He nudges Yuichis shoulder as he walks past him, telling him to move.
"I cant do that today though," Leos shoulders droop but he continues, "I have to help Auntie with moving the last of our stuff into the apartment." He shrugs, he can tell Leo is a bit disappointed but the pair continue walking down the deserted hall, shoes squeaking on the ground, well Leos, Yuichi was raised well.
To which this is what Leo notices.
"How are you so quiet?" He stops in his tracks and Yuichi has to turn around as Leos eyes squint and his head turns.
"Oh yeah, i was raised by my Auntie and i want-slash-wanted to be a samurai." His chin juts out and he puffs up his chest, Leo continues to walk after a second of considering. His face says it all yet he still says it.
"Thats cool," and then something not-so-clear, "Im actually a ninja myself." He points a thumb at himself-like a child- paired with a smile, so wide and bright he almost has to squint at the sight, of confidence and proudness. He too puffs out his chest, but not much as his shell wont allow that.
"Thats." He doesnt know how to reply to that, i mean Samurai and Ninja are and have always been enemies no? Have they not always been at odds in the history books he reads, or most of the time listens to? So he takes a breath and says the first thing to come to mind. Its nothing bad, but the pause makes Leo stare at him in expectatance. "Thats cool actually." He smiles and pushes a hand out to open the doors of the school building.
Leo nods in agreement, "Yeah, plus Dad had to teach us all that from TV. (Or so he says)." He murmurs the last part yet with an odd silence Yuichi can pick it up, good thing he hired the level on his hearing aids when he was listening to music. Yuichi guesses that he don't believe his Dad just taught that from only the TV.
"Thats still cool. Anyways, i need to head over to my apartment." Leo waves bye to him as he starts to runs down the sidewalk, across the street, down the sidewalk again and into his apartment building. Auntie is there waiting for him and she hurridly starts talking to him in japanese.
"Where were you?" She grabs him and pulls him outside to they can get to the area with the moving van.
"Helping out a friend." He removes her hand from his arm and continues to shuffle down the sidewalk to where it is. Its a small van, most of their stuff having being moved the week before. So it only will take about two hours to get it all the way to their apartment. So they start with the stuff at the back.
"Lets get started." She cracks her old bones, standing at 4' 5" she still looks like she will beat someone up.
"Lets get crackin'." Copying her movement, he opens the doors.

It didn't take two hours, it actually took about 40-50 minutes and like ten trips. Man apartment elevators are tiny. However all that movement, plus a day at work and in Yuichi's case, school it still wore out the pair.
"Ah, now thats done, who is this friend of yours?" Auntie calls from the kitchen preparing dinner as Yuichi plays Mario Kart with Gen, Chizu and Kitsune.
"Ah a turtle yokai- i think- called Leonardo," He makes a sharp turn and curses as the leaderboard is shown, he texts his friends he temporarily leaving and pauses the game. "I was helping him get the homework." He gets up and heads out into the kitchen where Auntie is making, "Mmmmmm is that Arroz Con Gondolas?" Hey, they're Japanese, but Asian people do love their hispanic foods.
"Yes, and how kind it is of you to help this boy." She wipes her hands on her apron and hobbles over to him. She clasps his arms and finally says.
"I want two grandnieces." And turns around and hobbles back to the area where she preparing the pork to be cooked.
"AUNTIE!" He shouts, staring at her in disbelief, and he gets no response, just a hum. So he- red faced-heads back to the game in disbelief. He pushes down that thought and rejoins to race just as he hears Kit scream gibberish at Gen matching his taunting when he wins. When all calms down, Chizu decides to speak at no one in particular. Which is what one would say if they had all their senses ripped from them.
"Who's giving Auntie grandNieces" Almost innocently asked. Almost. Yuichi turns red at the question. He doesn't even know why they are acting like this? But it is so embarrassing. Gen decides to calm the waters much to Yuichis relief and Kits disappointment.
"Anyways! Ignoring that, who is this friend of yours Yuichi? From what I can hear you're too annoying to be around." OK, not the best diversion, but he is still thankful. He sends Gen a quick gratitude and starts talking about Leo and their homework symbiosis relationship.

That, is how their friendship starts. And it's pretty nice, like symbiosis, Yuichi gets him homework for every class he misses, and in return Leo helps him with any work he is struggling with reading and understanding. They've been using this for most of the school year now, starting in November and now its April. Now he is pretty familiar with his family. Splinter, his dad, Donnie, second oldest and nerdiest (recently with an interest in coding and Casey) Raph, third oldest and strongest (with an interest in wrestling) and finally Mikey, the youngest and funniest (who also like art) he has made peace with all of his brothers except Donnie. Mikey is, chill, but when he mentioned art the kid warmed up like that. Raph is cool, he's a pretty active dude so Raph was fine. Donnie, isn't that moving on his protective younger brother stance. And their other friends. Casey, the greesy kid who he made peace (for now) with and April, of course the girl on April tonight.
Hes also has learned alot, why they were all so surprised when he so boringly reacted when they met him. Yeah he was excited but he didnt run up and ask for their autographs, or anything else a crazed fan would act. In fact, he didnt even know they existed before he met Leo and didnt even know they saved the whole world. Hey moving countries is a pain.
Tonight they're having a sleepover! Yuichi is practically jumping with excitement all day and the day before, and the night before when he gets to his own apartment, he literally is. Auntie of course, takes notice of this. She shuffles over to him with a small smile on her lips. She grabs his hands and stills him for a second before saying something in Japanese.
"Is this about that boy?" He shakes his head yes, confusion written on his face, "Make sure you greet his dad with kindness and respect i taught you to." She moves to take off her slipper, "And don't let me hear this boy hurt you or vice verse or his, or your, ass will be grass." She threatens him with the slipper in her hand and he doesn't really understand what she means by this.
"Ok Auntie I swear I'll be respectful." He pause, not really knowing how to respond to that, nor understanding what she means, but continues to speak either way, "And I'll. Treat? Him? Well? I guess?" She nods in approval and shuffles away.
"Good." And he folds the last of his clothes and starts to out them in his bag. Pant, shirt, Underwear, and jewelry. He wishes to be able to stay for longer, not just because he enjoys being around his friend, he also really likes the repetitive movement, it lasts for long enough for him to pay attention and not too long so that he looses concentration. But all he's doing is placing five items into his extra bag.
He finishes packing his things and grabs his backpack to leave. He pushes open the door of the room and looks back at it. He may have only lived her for almost half a year but hes made it home. Walls scattered with posters, papers, and paintings he places and tapes to his walls. His rooms is, in his mind, a controlled mess. He shrugs and closes the door and heads out to the dining room kitchen area. Auntie is there and she slides him a plate of eggs and toast.
"Eat." He complies and eats his breakfast. Spot runs out from no where and he jumps on his back, making Yuichi almost inhale his breakfast. Or at least end up with it in his nose and eyes.
"There ya are Spotty boy!" He spins around and grabs the dino by his underarms . "I havent seen ya in like two days. Where were ya?" He just tilt his head and trills. Yuichi supposes that Spot just got scared from all the movement and just hid away in the upper levels.
When he finishes he walks over to Auntie and bends over and kisses her head and she waves him away to head to school. "Youll be late." She smiles and he heads out the door. He walks down the hall with a skip in his step. He's never understood the chip off your shoulder metaphor. He nods hellos to a few neighbors and they respond. Theres Mr Tim, a nice old black man who made friends with Auntie almost immediately and been living there for almost 18 years now.
He heads into the elevator out of the building and down the sidewalk. Down the sidewalk, across the street, and back down the sidewalk. Once down, he enters the building with the hundreds of kids pouring in. He walks over to his locker where Leo is waiting wearing a button up and some loose grey cargos. He has definitely had his style get an upgrade over the year.
"Sup," He opens his locker and places his blue crossbody jean bag into his locker and he notices Leo not acknowledging him. He slams the locker getting Leos attention finally. Leo unfortunately jumps at the sounds and now he feels bad.
"Oh hey," He points at his earphones, those of which he didnt notice were even there, "Sorry, didn't hear ya, music." He doesn't really care that he didn't hear him, he kinda feels bad about scaring him mainly.
"What'cha listening to?" He sidles up to Leo and bumps his shoulder. Before Leo can reply Yuichi gets ran over. By Donnie. He doesn't look remorseful in the slightest however and Yuichi gets the vibe it was intentional. Donnie glares at him and shows his teeth as if to say, 'not to close now!' It works and Yuichi unconsciously slightly moves away from Leo. Leo, however stays ignorant to the, threat? And continues walking and even pulls Yuichi closer to him much to his own dismay.
"Omygod look at this!" He shoves his phone up too Yuichis face, "Theres another Adele concert tomorrow, totally sending that to the fam." He then takes a screenshot and copies the link to send to someone. He grabs Yuichis arms and shakes him over and over in excitement and doesn't stop even at Yuichis confusion. "Im gonna take you too that she be hitting them notes!" He still very clearly does not understand what he means but smiles anyways.
"Wait do you not know Adele?" He stops and Mikey, who he dodnt even notice was there, stops as well in his tracks looking up from his phone.
"YOU DONT KNOW ADELE?!" He looks at Yuichi in disbelief, eyes wide and he points at Yuichi. A few kids stop and stare at the trio is confusion and disgust.
"No?" His voice is near mumbling, and he looks so so embarrassed. He sheepishly smiles and rubs the back of his neck while looking at the dirty tiled floor. Or his shoes. Oh he'd rather look at his blue converse. A few years old now littered with graffiti marker and embroidery. Leo grabs his face and turns him towards him, red faced from embarrassment.
"Im definitely taking you to that concert bro, you are so uncultured." He lets go of Yuichi and the bell rings. Mikey shouts out a curse as he turns on his heels, shouting a red faced hello to a James after he humbs into the kids enormous shape, and runs to his theatre class. The pair are left alone and are already at Leos class.
"Okay, ill see you third then." Leo nods and cocks open the door as a few other kids start pouring in as well.
"Bye!"
"Buh Bye!" And with that Leo heads into the class and sits in his seat by April. Yuichi, however turns on his heels and heads over to Math with Ms Cooper.

The day passes by as usual. Math first, Ms Cooper and her ridiculous symbolism. ELA next with the eccentrics of Mr Williams. Science with the bitchy para. Digital Art with the fruity Mr Jones. Lunch with Leo and the group. History with Ms McMaham, the failed comedian even when the whole class cracks up at her jokes. And finally he has his student Aid where he works in different classes across the week.
He walks down the hall to the library, where he is working today, on Friday. It goes; Band- Monday, Pre-algebra- Tuesday, Digital Art- Wednesday, Study Hall- Thursday, and Library- Friday. Today is Friday. He rather likes the library. The only exception would be the bitchy old librarian. The younger one is nice though, shes pretty cool too, about the whole mutant/ yokai thing. Also just in general, she wears a new patterned eyeliner every day.
Shes also really tiny, like around Aunties height. And she wears the same sweater every day with a new clothing combination. So yeah shes pretty cool. The other one is insignificant though.
"Oh hi Yuichi!" He snaps his head around to see Donnie and Casey, the one whk called out to him as Donnie is not that warmed up to him yet, walking up to him. Holding hands because 'no we are not dating!' they're just some idiots and the group at this point have bet on when they would figure out their feelings. He turns around and waves at the pair as they slow to a stop in front of him.
"Oh hey what are y'all doing here?" He eyes their hands conjoined together, and even if he's not related to this kid he wants to give Casey the shovel talk. Donnie follows his eyes and his face reddens and he removes his hand from Casey's and wipes his hand. 'Huh, maybe i will get my 50$ if he realizes soon'. He smiles and the pair as they stutter out their excuse.
"Wwwwell we have last period together and the class is currently in here." Casey points at the teacher to further prove his point. The teacher sees the trio and waves at them. But thats the teacher for ELA 4, his teacher, Mr Williams.
"What grade are you guys in?" He jumps back in surprise as they look at him confused.
"We are in our senior year?" He thought they were in their Junior year at most what the hell. Casey pulls Donnie to sit down at a table nearby.
"I thought yall were younger?" They stare at him as if he thought they were human. Donnie tilts his head to the side in confusion before everything registering in his brain.
"Well me and Leo are twins actually. It just doesn't seem like that I know." He points at his neck as if it where most of his problems stem from. It probably is honestly with bis voice. Yuichi slowly nods as he puts the pieces together.
"How does your ages go?" Donnie takes a moment to think before snapping his fingers.
"Leo, Me, Raph and then Mikey. Leo and me are 17 while Raph is 16 and Mikey turns 16 in like two months." He takes a pause and grabs his book and pushes up his glasses. "Mikey and Raph are in the same grade though, Mikey just barely makes the cut for Junior." Opens the book and starts to read but continues to talk. "Also, your an OK kid, but if you hurt my brother they will find your body."
"Dont you mean they wont find his body." Casey wonder aloud as Donnie smirks in his direction before turning his attention to Yuichi once again. Yet Yuichi has no clue why he's saying all this.
"Oh no they will find his body. In pieces." When he says this he smirks a terrible smirk and Yuichi knows exactly who Donnie is. All protective and terrifying threats. Though he can't begin to imagine is Mikey was set on his sent. He shudders at that thought because hes seen the youngest brothers wrath and he feels with how Donnie is right now he is not safe, not anymore at least.
"Ohhh, yeah thats actually terrifying." Donnie just smiles at him and turns his attention back to the rabbit. Yuichi throws up his hands in defeat and defense.
"Hey i don't even know why your giving me this talk but i wont hurt him all right?" The pairs faces grow with smiles of knowledge and walks away not answering the unasked question. 'What was that for?' is the only question in his mind as he walks over to Mr Williams asking what he can do to help.

"Hey!" Leos voice calls out with no response. 'Weird' he thinks and runs over punching Yuchi's shoulder lightly. Yuichi jumps and looks over at Leo. He reaches up and fiddles with his earphones, turning a rod to. 'Hire the volume? Ohhhh, that makes so much more sense.'
"Oh hey bro. Sorry, lowered my hearing aids," So he thought, "Too loud, ya know?" He shurgs and laughs sheepishly but Leo just nods.
"No thats cool, i wish i could just turn off my sound." One of yuichis ears tilts to the side in confusion before fixing up what Leo said. He smiles. A bright and happy smile because, thats not how people usually react to him being deaf. But thats a thousand times better than any pity or misplaced sorrow at that.
"Yeah," He flips his topknot and continues, "I'm pretty awesome." He smiles a toothy smile at Leo and finishes grabbing his stuff out of his locker.
"Lets see, Math, ELA and Science?" He mutters and Leo excitedly nods as he looks at the book in his hand.
"I never asked, how come you know english?" Yuichi doesn't immediately respond and Leo takes it for the worst, "Oh nononono not like that justlike your not the greatest reader of english, oh well thats worse-" Yuichi cuts him off by putting his finger to the others lips and he turns red in embarrassment.
"Hey man its cool. No need to worry about that." He removes his finger and shuts his lcoker and starts to walk, Leo sidles up beside him. "I never bothered to learn learn how to read the english language, but i have been speaking english for such a long tome now. The only difference between now and then is," He giggles, "The world more widely accepts us." Leo pauses for a moment.
"Where did you live before anyways, you speak as if there are thousands of those like us." Yuichi smiles and they stop at Leos locker.
"Well in the 1920s the japanese government tried to manufacture the greatest warrior. Those have been tried for thousands of years, the only other case that worked was with the samurai, a long time ago. And they did, a snake, an eagle, a rabbit and an shark. They made 35 of each." He pauses as Leo gets more and more involved in the story, "From there they were given various levels of intelligence, but the project was shut down soon after. The projects lived on and made their own underground city." He stops for a second as Leo wants to ask another question and Yuichi answers it, "Yes it could damage the overlying structure, which is why they didn't put this place under a city. It was in the forest." He finishes up and Leo almost frops his books on the floor.
"Ah dang it," He picks up the books continuing what he wanted to ask, "You said you came from a farm?"
"The people- or rather mutants- who built the city bought the land above so no human structures would be built, my ancestor Miyamoto Usagi, whom i am named after, bought some land and built a farm after he settled down." Leos mouth is wide open along with his eyes, to him this is the most interesting thing in the world. To yuichi this is Saturday lessons. Leo slams his locker closed and Mikey runs up to the pair.
"Goodeye mate," He winks, adding an australian accent to his words, "And where might you fine fellas be goin'?" The trio continues walking and Raph runs past them, in yet another race with Casey, Donnie trailing out of the robotics lab- where his current obsession is, coding. Donnie slides over to the trio smiling at the image of his best friend/ brother and his crush-that-is-not-yet-known. He checks Yuichi, with the latter cringing at the pain in his shoulder.
"Sup bros. And Yuichi." All Yuichi wants is for Mikey to not catch on to whatever the fuck Donnie caught on to. Which again, he has no fucking clue of which. He knows Leos brothers pretty well. Mikey the youngest who is all art mind and silly accents. And Raph, tough words and a kind mind. He fits, just like Casey, right in to the group.
Various hellos are sent throughout the trio and even April shows up. Looking tired as fuck but happy to see her- self proclaimed- brothers.
"Sup my brothers." Leo deflates a bit, but has long recognized his 'crush' on April was more like a longing to be best friends. And that's exactly what they are. Best friends who run April Tonight. Its actually really nice when you think about it. He even confessed near the beginning of the school year, but April is a lesbian. So Leo deflates, but more at the fact that April didnt adress him. Which is quickly fixed.
"And my boy bestie, Leo!" She turns snd goes im between Leo and Mikey with her arms on their shoulders. She nods her head at Yuichi, as if knowing something he doesn't, which to be honest it feels like that all the time to him.
"And his new bestie Yuichi." She comes around the side and fist bumps said man. He smiles and reciprocates the movement at her. She smiles and pulls herself back into pace with the group before looking at her phone and running for the door.
"Sorry guys! Former TCRI members are having a press conference i gotta go to this!" Was all they got before the door slammed closed. Leo sighs, drawn out and disappointed. Mikey wags his eyebrows but Leo waves him off, 'Not how you think'. Is unspoken but well known. Yuichi decides to break the silence, ironically. He claps his hands together and sighs, quick and excitement coursing through it.
"All righto. Lets go!" Raph and Casey reappear, winded and Casey looking triumphant. Large smile on his face and walking with his chest a little higher. He makes a beeline to Donnie, much to Leo and Mikeys dismay apparently, and they bro hug. Mikey speaks up once again.
"Yes, as he said. Lets go! Sleepover time!" He jumps up and runs out the door, Casey and Donnie close behind. Holding hands because of course they are. Raph follows soon after shouting and jumping. Laughing loudly Yuichi runs after them grabbing Leos hand.
The walk was short. He was tempted to take the route to his apartment. But didnt. This route was different but nice. Down the street, into the sewar covering, down the hall and into their place of stay. Its cozy. But they are bombarded by the- what it feels like- thousands of cousins they have. Overlapping words run at them like a stampede of buffalo and Yuichi thrives in it. For about five seconds. Then he deflates, to which Leo recognizes.
"Come on! Lets show Yuichi around." He grabs Yuichi by the arm and pulls him around the house? "Here is the kitchen." He looks into a small area where the kitchen is and the kitchen is suprisingly clean. Their dad is in their with a cockroach lady. Leo pulls him away before he can wave hello. "Here is the game area," its set up like an old arcade, old games here and there with a ping pong table and a table eith stacks of board games. There is also a tv with a playstation set up.
"Wow." Is all he can get out before Leo grabs him again as he runs again out the rooms.
"Onward!" And they land where his brothers are now, he assumes the bedroom. "And here is the bedroom, that tube thing is my bed and underneath it is where you shall sleep tonight." His brothers look up, along with Casey. Donnie and Casey in the tent playing a gane on a handheld game thing. Raph in a triangle hole covered with plastic near the ground. Mikey is on the opposite wall of Leo in a pipe as well. Leo points at his own pipe for now and Yuichi takes the hint.
"Nice." And he drops his bag on the floor in the pipe Leo directed him at. He looks around the room, its pretty nice actually, aside froma few cracks and places with mold, it looks like its been in great upkeep for the years they have lived here. Leo stands awkwardly at the door.
"Wanna play some games?" His brothers snicker at him but he waves it off. Yuichi nods excitedly and the pair leave the room to head down the hall to the game room. The pair stay in there for the rest of the night, goofing off and making cracks at each other. After a while Donnie and Casey join them, a pair they are, playing every game and keeping score of every game either wins. Soon the four get called to dinner, Spaghetti Sandwiches. Yuichi has never had this before, its a nice suprise and he's definitely asking for the recipe after this.
"Oh yeah! 'Peghetti 'Wiches!" Yuichi looks funnily in the direction of Mikey, who shouted that out while jumping over Raph and Casey who were discussing something related to fighting judging from their stance. Mikey glares at Yuichi as he sits down by Leo and sits on the other side of his brother. Yuichis face twists into utter confusion as Mikey points two fingers to his own eyes and the towards Yuichi. Leo catches this and hits down Mikeys hand, which was in front of his face.
The pair look at each other in confusion but Splinter stands up at the head of the table. All of their family is there, except for April and Mondo. April, is at the conference thingie she mentioned earlier. And Mondo is at a skate park competition- he thinks. So, Splinter stands up and his chair makes a loud noise as he stands up, chair scraping across the floor. Yuichi flinches and lowers the sound catcher on his hearing aids.
"I think, that we must celebrate." The group hums in agreement, which Yuichi meets with a hum of confusion. Splinter continues however, "That Leonardo has met this boy." He nods at Leo and sits back down in his seat. Yuichi looks around in confusion as everyone else is congratulating Leo. Who, might he say, is just as confused. He knows Splinter is proud of him making friends that isn't April and occasionally Irma, but that was kinda weird to him.
Everyone continues to eat however, so both of their questions are lest unanswered. He takes another bite of his half eaten sandwich and groans at how yummy this is. This is so good, all the textures and the flavors mixed together perfectly. Splinter catches sight of his enjoyment from a seat down.
"You like?" Yuichi nods excitedly and swallows the rest of his bite.
"Actually, i was wondering if i could have the recipe?" Splinter nods and strokes his beard.
"I was planning on teaching this to our resident chef actually, wanna join sometime?" Yuichi shakes his head up and down so violently his ears start flapping along with him. Splinter smiles and he feels his hands uncontrollably flap as well and his ears stick up. He giggles and Leo looks over to him smiling at his actions.
'There are ore people who do that' Is the only thing running through his brain as he sees his friend flapping his hands. Yuichi stops soon after and continues eating his spaghetti sandwich. Leo looks down at his own plate, a salad, because he cant stand the texture of certain things, and the bread is only toasted on one side and that bothers him. He also doesnt really like spaghetti much. Weird he knows hut its just the texture of it all. 'But' he thinks, 'I would try Yui's' He smiles and continues eating the salad on his plate.

The rest of dinner was uneventful, apart from the fact that the kid Mikey bumped into on the way to theatre class, got his mumber and wanted to apologize. That was a very entertaining mess to watch as the kid, named James, called to apologize. Mikey is gonna get made fun of for the next year.
Yuichi gets ready for bed as April joins them for the first time tonight, Yuichi was so excited to meet her! Like she is April Tonight! She only laughed at his reaction and even thanked him. He don't know why though. Probably due to the superfly thing. He doesn't bother searching it up though.
So now, the 7 teens are readying for bed and apparently its not even a set bedtime here? They go into bed at around 10-11 and just fall asleep whenever. Thats cool, Auntie usually gets him in bed, no watching tv being on phone at 11. Its been years since she took his phone at night. But he knows better.
Everyone gets into their respective beds, Casey with Donnie, just cause there isnt any extra beds not anything else, and April on the couch. Even after they've entered their areas the room is lit up with phone screens and giggling. He pulls up his messages and texts Leo almost immediately getting a text back.

Lee: Hey?

Yuichi shifts, facing the wall. He smiles, hes never felt so happy just being around a friend before. This is nice. He can faintly hear Leos breath slow to a steady beat, so he takes out his hearing aids and put them in their case by his bag. He sends the groupdchat a quick message about taking out his hearing aids which is met by several thumbs up and even a 'good, i would snatch them if you didnt' from Mikey.
