Chapter Text
Once again, Shane wakes up tangled with Ilya in his bed. Using a quarter of the space available just to be close.
”Morning, Shane.” Ilya says with his grumpy morning voice.
Shane turns his head up to meet Ilya’s eyes. “Morning.”
”I want to show you something today.” Ilya smiles.
”What?” Curiosity is getting the best of him.
Ilya chuckles. “You will see after breakfast.”
Shane looks up at him, pouting.
”Eh, no. No heart eyes.” Ilya tells him as he drags a hand through his hair. Shane keeps looking at him with pleading eyes.
Ilya groans. “You will be the death of me. Fine, we go now.”
Shane lets out a laugh, the kind that Ilya’s heart adores.
They get out of bed. Don’t bother changing out of their pajamas, just approaches the door.
Ilya holds it up for Shane and leads him to the staircase.
We’re going down there? After last night?
But Ilya leads him up instead.
As they get to the top, Shane realizes that this hall is just as big as the one on the ground floor.
”My apartment feels like a treehouse compared to your mansion.”
Ilya turns around to look at him. “Don’t disrespect tree houses. Me and my brother used to build those.”
The air suddenly felt stale. Ilya freezes.
Brother. Alexei Rozanov.
”I’m sorry-“
”It’s okay, Ilya.” Shane cuts him of and takes his hand. Rubbing circles on it.
It’s okay.
Ilya looks down at the movements in his palm. He lets out a relaxed sigh before guiding Shane forward.
”You can come up here whenever you want.” Ilya tells him since it wasn’t obvious after last night.
They stop in front of a door. “Hope that it’s not occupied by Alexander.” Ilya murmurs before pushing the door open and standing aside.
Shane enters.
It’s a library. A massive one.
He walks deeper in, seeking his way through all of the bookshelves.
Yeah, this is definitely a mansion.
”Do you like it?” Ilya asks from behind him.
Shane turns around. “Yes.”
Ilya smiles pleased. “Good.” He approaches Shane. “I figured that you were very bored yesterday. So here is the library, there is a gym opposite this door. A living room to watch tv two doors to the right. And-“
Shane steps closer, letting their bare feet touch each other. “It’s great, thank you, Ilya.”
”Anything for you.”
Shane places his hands on Ilya’s clothed chest. He can feel his muscles through the fabric. He looks up at Ilya who scans him with his eyes.
”I like you…a lot, Ilya.” Shane whispers as he lets his forehead touch Ilya’s.
“I like you too.” Ilya says while staring into Shane’s eyes.
Just do it already.
Shane leans forward and places his lips on top of Ilya’s.
Fuck, they’re so soft.
A hand roams around and steadies Shane’s back. Another grips Shane’s chin lightly, guiding him in place for Ikya to deepen the kiss. Carefully letting his tongue grace the crack.
Shane lets him. Let’s Ilya lead him while keeping him wrapped around him, like he is scared that Ilya might disappear.
They moan into each other’s mouths.
Ilya pulls away after he has explored every inch of Shane’s mouth.
He keeps holding Shane. “Have to be quiet in a library.”
Shane groans before initiating a second kiss.

Shane spent a lot of time in the library the following week. A lot.
Sometimes he went to the gym or tv room to but he was mostly here. While Ilya was in his meetings trying to find and probably kill his assaulters.
God, I adore that man.
He often got to be there alone. Sometimes he meet Alexander in there, reading biology books.
Shane was rather convinced that he missed his doctors career even though he expresses to be happy to take care of Shane and the other idiots that gets injured in this building.
Shane was always standing in the sports aisle. He does miss his hockey studying with Hayden. They didn’t do it often but it was fun. He had nearly forgotten about it.
Ha called Hayden often. He never came here, obviously but he had asked Ilya a couple of times if he could meet Hayden at his house and hang out for a bit.
Ilya always said yes but Shane had a strong feeling that Dimitri was watching him.
Better safe than sorry.
