Summary
Alternate universe. When Pedro Hernandez ordered the hit on Gibbs' family, only Shannon died in the car crash; Kelly survived albeit with a permanent impairment. Tony DiNozzo never met Agent Gibbs in Baltimore and therefore was never recruited by him to join NCIS.
The story starts halfway through 2009, between seasons 6 and 7; Michelle Lee, the team's probie, never killed Brent Langer, who is Gibbs' SFA, and Ziva is back in Israel for good. -

Summary
Therein lies the crux of the Buck problem. Eddie’s in love with Buck, he knows it and thinks he has subconsciously known it for a while now. And he thinks that Buck loves him, too, knows that if he didn’t, he wouldn’t be spending every night at Eddie’s home and caring for his son as if he was his own, wouldn’t offer to drive Eddie to and from physical therapy appointments without making it seem like a hassle. But Buck deserves someone who can give him everything he needs, who can have his back all the time, and Eddie knows that he can’t be that person right now.
Because Buck deserves to be completely enveloped in love and affection, and Eddie can’t physically give him that, his constantly aching and useless arm an ever-present reminder. All he has to give is a one-armed hug, a broken mug, and a heart that wants too much that he doesn’t deserve.
--
Or, when the bullet severs the nerves of his right arm, Eddie realizes the road to recovery doesn’t always have to be made of gravel.Bookmarked by Scribbled_Seconds

Summary
Bucky is a disabled vet struggling with reintegrating into civilian life. He has a routine and a rhythm, and he doesn't like to let anything - big or small - disrupt it. That all changes the day Bucky finds himself inside CATastrophe, the local pet rescue, recovering from a panic attack in the back room of the shop.
He’s used to walking by the place, not visiting, but the next thing Bucky knows, he’s hanging signs and being used as a climbing tree for a bunch of freshly-acquired kittens. And he just...keeps going back. First for the kittens, then for the disaster shop owner who rescues actual kittens from actual trees and teaches archery as a side-gig, and eventually because he’s hopelessly in love.
(Clint was in love before Bucky ever walked in the door.)

Getting a concussion comes with a risky job as a first responder. It's expected. A bonk on the head and everyone recovers just fine. Buck has had quite a few to prove this point; thankfully, none of them didn't leave any long-lasting issues.
This time?
Buck isn't so lucky.

Summary
After finally leaving the hospital, Bucky and his son Peter move into a tiny apartment outside of New York City to try and continue living their life. Days and nights go by, mundane and boring with nothing for Bucky to do other than mope about, stare into walls and listen to his neighbor's strangely lively nights.
Leave it to Peter to make new friends, one of which happens to be their mysterious neighbor.
