“I still own your contract – I am still your employer.” Ahzrukhal sneered, but his jittery hands shook with anticipation of the promised Med-X. “I order you to protect Blaire with your life. Follow her until your mission ends. You return to me the moment she arrives safely at her destination.”
Charon choked.

Looking down at the candy-floss of her hair, he felt his gut clench.

**Twist on Charon's contract. Blaire does not acquire Charon's company the traditional way, but rather through a loophole. Because of this, Charon is obligated to honor his employer's deal and ensure Blaire arrives at her chosen destination. Along the way, Charon begins to remember what it feels like to make his own decisions; what it feels like to be free. He even begins to remember how intoxicating the feeling of trust is.
But Ahzrukhal had made one fatal error: he never asked her what her destination was.

This is an extremely slow burn, probably extremely long, emphasis on feels over explicit content, borderline novelisation of my LW's story, complete with side quests and embellished NPCs abound. Shilo is an opiate addict with ADHD and Charon is... well, let's find out, shall we? :)
