But Luccio has scheduled for the following week a personal debriefing with him and a Senior Council member (the Gatekeeper, of all people) on “the desert”, and Carlos’ predecessor left behind two cardboard boxes labeled “the desert!!!!!” filled with notebooks Carlos has only begun to decipher. Some of them are written in crayon. All of them are disturbing. -

To be fair, most of that day was spent hooked up to monitors herself, with the med droids and Kallidahin on the asteroid base making sure she and the twins were all right. So, she doesn’t mind the delay (much), especially since they helpfully provided her with updated scans as soon as she asked.
Anakin was doing better. Or, she thought he was, anyway. -

It was a shame she couldn’t go with him, but it was her birthday, and if she didn’t show to her own party, questions would be asked. Kaito had promised to bring her the jewel known as the Blue Birthday though, to gloat and giggle over before they returned it, and she’d be lying if she said she didn’t think that was sweet.
But then that was Kaito, sweet in all the most socially unacceptable ways. -

Wei Wuxian bowed his head. "I understand completely. I don't intend to touch it. I just want to look more closely so that I can see how it's different from the other forehead ribbons. I got a close look at the replacement, and I can see that there are a lot of differences that aren't obvious at first."
