Season 4 has pacing that skips over everything to get to the big crescendo in a love letter to science and humanity. Most of the character arcs are over, the biggest hurdle stopping Senku from achieving his goals is petrified into friendliness, and we're watching them stack wins to the moon and back.
But humans are messy and dramatic creatures, so what if season 4 was had a bunch of soap opera/tellanovella style drama going on instead?

Stanley's strike team doesn't successfully navigate Cape Horn using a stolen aircraft carrier. Xeno slowly accepts that rescue is not coming and decides to live by a promise he made to Stanley when Stan first joined the military: "If I'm killed in action, live for me. Don't curl up and destroy yourself in grief. Go on being amazing. If there is an afterlife, I'll be watching, so make it a good show."
However,☝️Stanley is very much alive, just greatly delayed, and he wants his man back.
