“Seems I’ve touched a nerve,” Astarion crosses his arms, shifting his weight to the side and smirking- not quite the reaction you had expected. The sight of him standing there, almost taunting you with that deadly crooked smile sends a sudden thrill through you. Hate and longing rolled into one confusing, tangled-up mess.
You snap, face tight, “No. You have not.”
Liar.
His head tilts forward just a bit, the orange glow of the fireplace highlighting his cheekbones and illuminating his eyes, “Hm. Maybe I should try harder. I’m bound to touch the right one eventually.”
Astarion rubs you the wrong way, in every sense of the phrase. So why can't you stay away?
You're a druid who can't wild shape, an outcast from your circle. After a mindflayer ship kidnapped you from Rivengton, a small town outside the bridge to Baldur's Gate, you find yourself the unqualified and reluctant leader of a small group of weirdos- united by one common goal: Getting these damn tadpoles out of your heads. It’s Friday night and you’ve drawn the short straw. You’re sorting through the unfiled DSO training logs and mission reports. The work is tedious, boring, and has you staying after hours to complete the irritating task, but at least it isn’t all bad. Once you get to Leon Kennedy’s tapes, you find your night far more interesting–that is until the agent in question walks in on you with your hand up your skirt.

He’s been drawn to her from the very moment he laid eyes on her. Relies on the girl, even now. It’s telling of something instinctual in him, like it’s been branded into his very biology. Still subservient, deep down, crawling pathetically to the first whiff of a pitying savior. Begging for a scrap of hope, of reprieve, of fucking redemption.
Is that all he is? A slave, at his core?
No, he thinks with a conviction that feels too much like denial. No, because she will be the one to change. Not him.
