Lucanis is fed up with paperwork, it seemed never ending and with Spite complaining he was bored, it was only taking longer. when Carlotta gets a contract She invited him along, after a little begging on his part, anything was better than paperwork and getting to spend time with his love was always preferable. It’s a simple job, a favour for a friend. While they’re working, Carlotta shares the story that lead to her agreeing to take this job, where a stranger saved her getting caught by the city Gaurd and now said stranger needed help. It prompts Lucanis to hint at his own first job, that also hadn't quite gone to plan. Curious, she asks him to tell her the whole story once they’re done.
When he finally does share, Carlotta can’t resist teasing him relentlessly, the distraction dragging out his story as he struggles to finish it, she had a way of stealing his breath but he always enjoyed repaying in kind.

Raven is an assassin for hire gaining a reputation in Night City, Saburo decides to hire her and she ends up working for Goro, there is a tension between them that over time becomes friendship and more. but with Goro's job he keeps his distance despite what they both want. but then Yorinobu Murders Saburo and frames Goro, sending Raven to kill him but Raven refuses choosing to help Goro, they had a history there feelings for eachother not so easily forgotten.
This series follows the game kind off but with my own twists and changes due to there being no Secure your soul Relic.

Summary
I was inspired by an unintentional prompt about how many crimes your Rook has committed - and this little story started wiggling to the surface of my brain. I haven't written in about a year, but love how this fandom and the lovely Lucanis can bring me back in for some more.
This story was initially an excuse for some flirting and smut, but as always, it's growing a big dangly plot that's becoming hard to ignore. Lucanis is tracking a target when he comes across an elf in the woods who has just dispatched several loggers. As one of them was his lead, he's weighing up whether it's worth asking if she knows anything that could help him. Turns out, she can do a whole lot more than just that.
So, lets see where it takes us!

Well, perhaps not solely Rook‘s fault. But it it wasn’t for her, he wouldn’t have gotten involved, and wouldn’t have gotten himself killed.
And now she might be next.
It’s enough of a threat that joining Varric‘s coworkers at Evanuris Inc. for some corporate protection starts to look like a sensible idea.
In this AU, the Veilguard are a team of corporate heroes - think Dispatch, Superheroes Anonymous or Velveteen Vs. - and for once, Rook is the odd one out to join join the team late.
