I squeezed my eyes shut tightly and tried as hard as I could to remember something. It felt like trying to remember a dream, but the flashing images didn't make sense and wouldn't stay long enough for me to make anything at all of them.

Her mom, her mom who just four years ago chased her with a gun trained on her heart, broke the silence first. "Caroline? Is...is that really you?" Her mother's eyes brimmed with unshed tears, while the rest looked at her with a mix of confusion and mistrust. She couldn't really blame them, but they were in a time crunch, and they didn't really have time for that shit.
"Caroline Forbes died four years ago. My name is Caroline Gerard," she said with confidence, "and I'm here to help."

However, a month into their holiday, before the apocalypse started, the tire blew on the RV. Fate seemed to hate her. As she was cursing up a storm at Fate and the tire a truck pulled up beside her with two men, hunters or rednecks as some would call them. The strange thing was one of them made her magic sing in a way no one else ever had or even could. What happens when they travel with these men to the quarry, will the group listen and accept her or will they just be another lot in a long line of superficial people.
