It was only one morning, when he woke amongst the broken ruins of his castle, cradled in torn sheets of spidersilk and sunlight, that the pain was so sharp, so tight, that he turned to the side and retched - and then there was the taste of sweet nectar on his tongue. And petals, small things, innocent as any flower could be, clinging to his throat, to the roof of his mouth, to the backs of his teeth.
