Grace knows he was supposed to be in his house on Erid, Simon knows this new guy cannot possibly be a hallucination, and Ava, upon hearing Grace ramble about theories for how he got there, knows that new guy is Smart. Could-Secure-Our-Survival Smart.

Summary
Whatever happened here was bad. Irrevocably, inexplicably, inarticulably bad in a way that the most basal parts of his being wants nothing more than to escape from. But Grace can't turn away.
After encountering what appears to be a last hoo-ra emergency mission attempt from Earth caught up in the Hail Mary's wake, Grace and Rocky discover a single, severely injured human being quite literally encased in what Grace can only describe as a crime scene. A horror movie. And when he wakes up? He's mad. Really mad. Talking to the walls mad. Now they have to figure out just where he came from and why. Things are further complicated when all the newcomer (Simon, they learn) can talk about is missing planets, haunted oceans, and non-existent space stations. That and the really weird data they've been picking up on.
Maybe part of solving that is, much to Rocky's enthusiasm; both Grace and Simon slowly realizing how lonely they are.Series

Because he can’t. Not with Sherry waiting at home. Not with so many things still up in the air. Going out to drink is on the very bottom of his list until he’s certain their house of cards won’t collapse on top of them in the next moment.
He shakes his head with an apologetic grimace. “Sorry, I already have plans. Maybe some other time though,” he quickly tags on. Then, before he can say more and dig himself into a deeper grave, he turns to leave. But not before he catches a glimpse of Grayson’s hopeful smile.
Or: After Claire leaves to look for her brother, Leon and Sherry manage to flee from Raccoon City and the military and decide to hide out in Blüdhaven. Meeting and befriending Dick Grayson there turns out to be one of the best things that could have happened to them. Or is it?

As for the 'Cons who decide to call the Ark 'home' in the aftermath of its ending, though, the world feels a lot more dangerous and chaotic than ever before. When the familiar is a distant past and the present is nothing but uncharted waters, how are you supposed to move forwards when it feels like everything you've been accustomed to is crumbling down around you? As they slowly learn: don't put the weight of the past on your shoulders alone, how you were raised does not define who you'll be, and camaraderie built with others is just as strong as that which you were created with.
