Prompt: Daryl doesn’t join the group until he finds Sophia wandering the woods alone and tracks the group to their location. Bringing Sophia to them goes a long way towards getting their trust. Shane wants to let Lori go back to Rick…it’d certainly be a lot easier if he could convince the new guy to join their group and drop his pants. How do you convince a skittish, withdrawn, abused, redneck to do either especially when he doesn’t like to be touched? Hopefully Shane can figure it out.
Bonus: If Rick and T-Dog were really involved in trying to befriend Daryl to get him to stay with the group that’d be cool too.

Six years after a career ending injury resulting in paralysis, Ilya Rozanov hires Shane Hollander, a friend of a friend, to stay with him on weekends to appease his off and on again girlfriend, Svetlana Vetrova. Ilya does not like acknowledging his disability and is insistent he can take care of himself. He describes Shane's position as more of a 'servant's job' not a 'nurse's job,' but offers a hefty salary, flexible hours, and friendship.
Shane, who is admittedly terrible at interacting with people, but great with Ilya's dog, Anya, recognizes exactly what Ilya needs immediately, but fails at balancing on the knife edge of empathizing and relating to his client, while not letting Ilya get away with whatever he wants... which is exactly what he wants to do.
Despite continually redefining their relationship, Shane's desire to care for Ilya, all of him, while coming to terms with his own identity, and Ilya's desire for Shane to see him for the man he is, while not acknowledging how completely Shane accepts him, proves to be no easier than 'keeping things professional.'

"Evan," Lucas said, his voice dropping to a devastated, trembling whisper. "I should have told you. I swear to god, I should have told you before we even left the bar, but I didn't think... I've never had a condom break on me. Never. I am so careful. I am so, so careful."
"Told me what?" Buck asked. His voice didn't sound like his own.
Lucas closed his eyes, a tear escaping and tracking down his pale cheek. He swallowed hard, and then he looked Buck dead in the eye.
"I'm HIV positive."

Shane takes a moment to think about it, and says 'of course I choose you'.Taking the moment to think about it? It doesn't sit right with Ilya when Ilya feels like he left the Boston team to be closer to Shane. What did Shane sacrifice?
It didn't end there, Shane asks him, 'Would you?' To Shane, they didn't plan this. They decided to see other, get retired and then tell everyone. Shane started the charity in the name of Ilya's mother, so they can meet other in public. He doesn't like socializing with people, but he met with donors, managed everything except coaching which he realised he is not good at it. Everything was going as planned right? When did things change? Ilya is not asking to leave Montreal but hockey. Hockey is where Shane feels normal, with no subject he needs to try hard to understand. He feels normal in the rink.
