Summary

“Because he didn’t fall in, Chihuahua.” Other-Raph bared his teeth and Donnie only smirked at the response.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” He sneered. Donnie leaned forward.
“It means you’re a tiny creature with an astronomical anger management problem-” Before another fight could break loose, the far more mature version of his twin stepped between them.
“That’s enough, you two.”
OR, this is my Rise Donnie and 2012 Raph best friend propaganda. Those two would commit so many crimes together and you can't convince me otherwise.

An AU where Splinter had indeed escaped with all the turtles, but Baron Draxum wasn't going to stop searching for his life's work. He tracks the family down after several years, but is only able to reclaim one of the specimens. Donatello. He wasn't the ideal one, but he would do. The boy would become the perfect warrior, defender of yokai. All that there is to do is get rid of those pesky memories, so he won't keep crying for his brothers.

Summary
Considering the recent alien invasion and all the other shit that happened, Donnie should have been used to it. It was such a normal occurrence; it was practically the new normal.
Noise was normal. It had surrounded him and the world for as long as the space-time continuum had existed. He had been surrounded by it his whole life. Never, can he remember a moment of silence when it came to his past memories, his entire lifetime.
If he had been surrounded by noises and sounds his whole life, then why did he suddenly feel like curling up and crying whenever someone closed a door, yelled in retaliation to another’s comment or just simply turned up the volume on their TV to hear better?
It was just noise, just stupid sounds!
Why did it bother him so much?
Basically, in addition to the heightened sensory issues, Donnie develops the fear of loud noises and doesn’t know how to deal with it.
This is set after the Krang invasion, when they are somewhat healing but still have a long way to go.
