Summary
Modern cultivator, Wei Wuxian, dies in a train crash and is sent back in time to the period of Ancient China he had been writing his thesis on - transmigrated into his own body as a child, dying on the streets of Yiling. He has no money, no family, but a knowledge of modern cultivation and of the historical events that are about to unfold.
He recalls the recently-unearthed journal of a woman who was imprisoned in Cloud Recesses against her will, and decides that she’s a good place to start to find someone who might be willing to help him dismantle the corruption that had sent the Cultivation World into the Dark Ages so long ago.
Of course, he had no idea that the person he sought would be the mother of Hanguang-Jun, the object of Wei Wuxian's fascination (“obsession,” his friend had corrected), since he had first learned of his existence in the ancient texts he'd studied.

Though, even knowing that at the end there would be nothing but pain and what seemed like a rejection, he couldn’t help but give away his heart to someone he thought would hold and care for it. Instead it comes off condescending. “Will’s allowed to have more than one friend, you know?” Robin replies, and Mike cannot believe her right now. Seriously, she comes in here out of nowhere and thinks she knows Will better than Mike? “I never said he couldn’t.” Mike shoots back. “Plus, are you guys seriously just friends?” Mike says, his eyes narrowing. And again, Robin's eyebrows shoot up. “Very much so, just friends. Like, the emphasis on very is almost comical-” Robin laughs nervously and quickly shuts herself up. “But, why would it matter so much?” Robin continues, a different look in her eye. “It doesn’t matter.” Mike says. “I was just asking.” Any and all forms of tears that might’ve been on Mike’s face are gone now, because he's strictly just annoyed. “Look, I promise you we’re just friends. Sometimes… you just need someone to go to for other things. He’s still your best friend, Wheeler.”

Tony didn’t want to.
“You’re going to regret it,” Tony said quietly. The beeping of the monitors had slowed, the panic had faded away leaving only a quiet exhaustion.
“I don’t think so.” And Strange sounded so sure.
Tony closed his eyes. He wanted to say no, wanted to let go of the weight of the world that had already crushed him. But he couldn’t do that. Couldn’t do that when Strange had used his last chance to save the world, banking on him. “Alright.” He swallowed hard, forcing himself to nod. “Okay. Send me back.”

"No? No this is the best time!" Tony screams out, voice already hoarse, vocal cords already straining, "No more explanations or 'But Tony you don't understand'." He twists violently to glare at Steve, a fist by his side and a finger pointing dangerously close to the super soldier's chest, "You, oh you arrogant piece of shit, you were going to sign the Accords!"
At that Sam pulls back, his gaze traveling to Steve and his brows furrowing, Bucky's as well.
"I told you amendments were more than possible, and, and I delivered! I told you Bucky would be transferred to an American psych ward for therapy, to get help! I offered to legalize everything you did to get Bucky, both you and Sam!" Sam takes a step back, a gruff noise escaping his throat. Steve won't look at him, he can't rip his gaze away from Tony.
