Simon glares viciously at the poor excuse of a knot. It’s not the boot’s fault, he knows that. He’s glaring because he has no other option than the one currently at his disposal, and it’s an option he despises with every piece of his wretched heart. But the sun is climbing higher and he needs to get outside to check on the garden. He grits his teeth and forces the words out.
“Can you…help me with something?”

(Three years in to the journey to Erid, there is something so bright and big in the Hail Mary’s path that it triggers an automatic shutdown of their engines.
When they stop, there is nothing bright there. In the center of where this anomaly would have been, there is a submarine. An improbable submarine, and the even more improbable person inside of it. He is far from home, praying for safety in his dreams, where he floats in the water of kind oceans and hears his mother spin bedtime stories. He wants, with all his being, to be saved.
Someone is listening. Someone is re-writing his story.
Someone gives him Grace.)

Summary
Grace has given Simon so much, from saving his life to keeping him fed, and there was only one form of currency in Eden, a human body. As little as Simon wants to, he knows that he has to give his human body to Grace. At least he knows that Grace would never hurt him.

Prompt from Tumblr: Hear me out… Grace is found by Eden and has his damsel in distress moment and is saved by The Butcher™
Eden wants their property back.
Their pathetic obedient guard dog. His sapling, and his blood to water it. The C.O.I. wasn't the only ones who wanted Simon dead anymore. And Simon's wasn't the only blood they'd spill in order to get revenge. Both the Filament station and The Tree was gone. Simon knew that. It's why he held so tight onto that sapling necklace, wrapping it around his wrist and hand like a rosary, praying with it every so often as he did growing up.
If the sapling was the only thing they wanted, maybe Simon would have given it to them. What would he need it for now anyway? He couldn't plant it on Erid (at least thats what Rocky and Grace said. They said it was too hot and there was too much ammonia for it to survive) and he didn't plan on ever going back, so it's not like he truely needed it.
Though... three words was enough for him to change his mind, enough for his mouth to open in a snarl, the teeth near his cheek bone becoming excited with anger and relentlessness.
"Come get him."
