Summary
As their high-stakes moon mission drew nearer and nearer, Senku found it odd that the self-confessed most superficial man on earth had nothing to ask for, even when everyone else had. Senku only meant to ask Gen "what?" or "why?", but one-worded questions could never summarize just how much really had gone unsaid between them.

Summary
His grandmother was the one who taught Gen about their connection.
Someone else might have called it magic, or a power, or a gift. But she never used any of those words. “It’s simply what we are,” she told him. “A conversation between us and the land.”
The spirits of the place - root, leaf, cloud, river, stone - spoke to them. And they could speak back, even command to a gentle extent. Gen’s grandmother could coax stubborn plants into flourishing, call a storm’s attention until it gathered overhead, or listen to the wind mutter news from distant hills. She said every human had a connection to the earth’s spirit, but most were deaf to it. Gen and his grandmother, though - theirs ran deep. Deeper than reason, deeper than blood.

Gen is magic. This changes everything.

Summary
The idea of a place that makes everyone magically have sex was funny enough as a teenager, but as an adult with taxes to pay and apprentices to shoo out of his room, Olruggio is decidedly less than enthused when he hears a landslide opened up a magical cave that apparently just does that.
But that doesn’t mean he’s going to let Qifrey investigate it by himself, or, even worse, with someone else.

"I have heard that your tastes are not as discerning, so to speak, as most western men, so I thought something beautiful would certainly please you.”

Summary
He’s seen many different cultural approaches to childcare. Amestris’ is rather stagnant, comparatively. Xing believed in gentle movement for infants, and built all sorts of wood cradles and hammocks for rocking their young. Ishvalans kept infants on their backs for most of their early years, tied and swaddled in place with cloth, and shielded from biting sand.
Xerxes, well...
Here, and now, Amestrians believe that a baby should be kept indoors for its first few months–to protect their health, and their developing systems.
Hohenheim knows just enough about childhood development to question this, but not enough to truly challenge it. Time had proved him wrong before, science and understanding crawling away from him as he spent years turning over other stones. It was as if the world moved rapidly every time he blinked, blurring past him without notice.
-
Or: Hohenheim gets stuck taking care of his infant son by himself. He thinks about old Xerxian traditions. Ed spends most of the day screaming.

Summary
It was almost enough to make him laugh, the absurdity of it all.
It really was true—people spent so much time and energy worrying about what others might think of them, forgetting that they, in turn, did the same. Most of the things they felt insecure about in themselves, other people never even saw—not because they were indifferent, but because they were too busy worrying about their own insecurities.
That was how they had been able to hide the truth about Al‘s body from most people for so long, after all.
Five times Edward tries to hide his issues and is surprised that it actually works. Plus one time it doesn't.
