Summary

Beautiful AU. 💖Hopeful and realistic at the same time and Tesla's psychology as the First and the way she still ends up the center of her brothers' lives but brings them together instead of tearing them apart is :chef's kiss: I also liked how the plant serum and Chapel and Earth and Chronica and Gunsmoke itself were recast.

His hands flew across the keys, notes climbing as the music crescendoed into a climax-
Honk.
The melody died a sudden, painful, mangled death as Knives froze.
He turned around.
“Honk”, honked a goose, in the middle of his chamber. Inexplicably alive and real, on a planet barren of all life except for Worms, thomas, Plants, and the last dregs of humanity.
The goose seemed to be judging him, on a spiritual level.
Knives blinked.
The goose was still there.
“Honk!”
“What the fuck-”

Convincing and sympathetic Sherlock POV. Having been on both sides of this dynamic, it rings true, in part because of the POV switch, which I wouldn't have thought to do if I were the one writing it. The end leaves me smiling.
J_Baillier is one of my favorite writers on AO3.

The premise is crack, but the gradual changes in character are amazingly done, and would probably work as a non-crack fic, too. Stellar use of the unreliable narrator (having the reader look at things from John's perspective but seeing more than he does about the other characters and the supernatural stuff). Great writing in an unexpected place!
