Zagreus decides to not go on a security run. He thinks in the back of his mind, he can take a day off and will make up two runs in the next day, praying his father would not get mad at him.
(Oh how wrong, the god could be. If he knew what was about to happen, Zagreus would have run outside and fight along his family, saving them from a fate that no one wanted to happen.)

Summary
In spite of the fact that Zagreus was remade whenever he entered the Styx, some things would be allowed to stay. If he had a stud, piercings would stay open. Tattoos were never permanent, but it would take a solid ten deaths before they would fade completely.
If he got sick, he would remain sick until his system either beat it or died to it, in which case he would emerge from the Styx with a clean bill of health.
He only vaguely remembered waving to Hypnos and Achilles before his memory skipped and he was curled in his bed, eyes shut tight and body curled in on itself. He hated fevers. It made no sense that he could get them, with how hot he ran.

Instead, in the wake of Prince Zagreus fully growing into his birthright and powers as the God of Blood, devastation strikes. Chronos has awoken, and captured the House of Hades on his crusade upwards towards Mount Olympus. With Persephone and the young princess Melinöe uncaptured but nowhere to be found, the plight of the House seems doomed to be seen as yet another odd, silent era of the Underworld to the Olympians... unless someone could change that.
Perhaps ironically, it seems what the Underworld needs once more is time, and a wayward young royal.
