Summary
Then Zheng Bei asks if he could stay, and it brings him down hard. It doesn't burst the fantasy—worse, it pins it down, here to the fabric of reality, making the two touch. He doesn't know what to say. Zheng Bei's face is serious. What if he means it? What if he could stay? What if he could have this?
He doesn't answer. He can't possibly answer, can't probe the gulf between what he wants and what's possible. They walk on. Could he mean it? Could he like Gu Yiran that much, enough to build him into his life? And if he did, how much would Gu Yiran give up to have that?
On the way home they walk close, side by side. Swinging, Zheng Bei's knuckles brush his and send a tingling jolt through him. Once could be an accident, but it happens again, and again. The third time Gu Yiran flexes his fingers against Zheng Bei's, lets them catch and hold for a lingering few seconds before separating. He feels flushed and giddy, knowing Zheng Bei is seeking his touch.

He tried not to be afraid, weaving a path several paces behind in the dark, out of reach of street lights. Near the edge of town, Xiaoguang, nervous as hell by then and about ready to attempt to drag Bei-ge home despite their size difference, fumbled when they stopped at a row of trash bins. He watched silently while Bei-ge pulled a glass bottle from his pocket and balanced it carefully on the metal lip of one of the rusty, filthy boxes, then turned to sit in the dirt.
Xiaoguang waited, breathing through his mouth to avoid the smell. Bei-ge noticed him eyeing the soda and shook his head. "I don't want - it would be bad luck." After a few minutes, he picked it up again and poured some out onto the ground, downing the rest with effort as if it was bitter before replacing the bottle in its spot.
If it was bad luck, why was he drinking it?

Summary
It's been over a month since Han Juwon last talked to Lee Dongsik at the lunch honouring Chief Nam. He figured, since he hasn't heard from him, that lunch must have been a goodbye. He doesn't blame Dongsik for wanting to build a life without him after everything he put him through, but when he receives a text from him out of the blue telling him to take a vacation he remembers how much that man annoys him. It's clear he has been keeping tabs on him instead of just talking to him like a normal person. Juwon plans to meet up with Dongsik to show him how completely unnecessary and unwanted his advice is. The visit doesn't exactly go as planned, but it does go exactly the way he needs.
Or Han Juwon and Lee Dongsik get the romantic comedy ending they deserve.
